Loopwing Wind Turbine

Loopwing Wind Turbine was created with the concept of people enjoying natural wind energy produced where they live. For this to come true, a wind turbine must have safety and quietness at the level never experienced before.
To this end, totally overhauling the conventional product design from the rotor shape, Loopwing developed a
revolutionary new type of wind turbine, which has highly sophisticated design and excellent operating performance compatible with extremely low noise.

Cumbria’s First Earth-Sheltered House

Built in 2002 this underground house fits beautifuly into the hill side. When finished its impact on the landscape is minimal. Utilizing passive solar heat as well as using solar panels on the side this looks to be quite an efficient design. Construction took what looks to be about six months. Below is the photos they posted of the construction. On their website is the complete story of the experience.
